Properly Care For Your Candle

  • Make sure you have plenty of time before you light the candle. Soy wax has a memory and it is very important to allow the whole surface to melt or it will be tricky to melt past that initial wax 'ring' on future burns. The initial burn should be at least 3 hours.
  • Once the melted wax reaches the glass, allow it to melt until 1/4” deep. This is called a melt pool. This is also where all of that fragrant aroma is released.
  •  If your candle is extinguished prior to allowing a full melt pool, all future melt pools will not go past the first one. Soy wax has a memory so to get the full benefits of the candle make sure you follow these instructions.

Candle Care

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.

Trim wick to 1/4 inch before lighting. Follow the 2 foot rule - don't place a burning candle near clothing, books, curtains or anything flammable.

Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans and any air currents.

Trim the wick to one-quarter inch each time the candle is lit. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large.

A burning candle should not be used as a nightlight.

A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time.

Discontinue burning a candle when a 1/2 inch of wax remains in the container. It is not safe to burn a candle all the way down.

****** Keep in mind, since this is soy wax and no additives are added, once you extinguish the candle it will cool and look lumpy on the top. This is completely normal and will not affect the performance of the candle on the next burn. ******
